The intention is to generate a draft plan by November 2008. To do this, a number of groups from within the Parish have been formed. The Working GroupsTo act as the focus for each on a number of issues, ten working groups have been set up. These each consider an assigned area of concern. These groups will be responsible for collecting inputs, analysing the results and recommending a way forward. This will include actions and initiatives both quick wins and medium/long term to address the issues raised by the residents. The reports from each Working Group will form the basis for the Parish Plan. The set of working groups will be covering the following subject areas:
Each working group consists of 5 or 6 people. They all volunteered at the village meeting, and each group appointed its own chairman. The Steering GroupTo co-ordinate the overall activity, there is also a Steering Group to "project manage" then generation of the plan. It will provide overall direction and project governance to the Working Groups to ensure that key milestones are achieved. To ensure success it will involve local service providers (including EHDC) in the Parish planning process: this is to ensure that issues raised are done in a way where our voice can have an effect. The Steering Group will secure appropriate funding for the production of the Parish Plan. This has already begun, with an initial grant of £1500 to launch the process. One of the key activities is to manage the distribution and collation of the Parish Questionnaire: this is one of the vehicles for everyone to have their say. Generating and distributing this document will incur costs! A key role is to provide a forum for the raising of issues and risks by the Working Groups. What Happens Next? For the plan to be effective, it needs YOUR input! |
